Our Services

Lodging & Personal Care

Belmont Residence offers a comfortable living environment with board and lodging. Each resident receives personalised care, with a dedicated House Mother ensuring their wellbeing, while promoting independence and dignity.

social & recreational Activities

Residents enjoy a range of group outings and social events, encouraging companionship and extending their interests, including visits to the theatre, Kirstenbosch Gardens, markets, beaches, and restaurants. We are fortunate to be invited to private homes for braais and swimming excursions. We value visitors hosting activities and events on our premises, such as art workshops, preparing meals, and celebrating their family members’ birthdays.

Access to
professional support

Residents and staff are provided with the services of a qualified Social Worker from Cape Mental Health, who is also available for family consultation. The House Mother caringly meets each resident’s unique health requirements.

Family Involvement

Family involvement is encouraged at Belmont Residence, with opportunities for families to participate in resident care, join the Committee, fundraise, and engage in community activities. This helps strengthen the support network and enhances the residents’ quality of life.

Safe & Nurturing Environment

Located in the Cape Town suburb of Kenilworth, Belmont Residence provides a secure environment where residents can live comfortably. The home is maintained to a high standard, offering a safe space where residents can thrive.

Fundraising

At Belmont Residence we are committed to providing a supportive environment for our residents. We rely on the generosity of our community to sustain our mission. Unlike other similar facilities, Belmont Residence does not receive a government subsidy, making fundraising a crucial activity. There is a history of contributions from families, friends, and philanthropic organisations. Every contribution, whether large or small, helps us maintain our home, enabling us to enrich the lives of our residents.

Currently, the sale of second-hand books raises much-needed funds. We encourage members of our community - families and friends of our residents - to get involved, whether by donating books, purchasing them, or helping to spread the word.

Contact Mea Lashbrooke if you have books to donate 074 101 1927 meatjie@gmail.com

Additionally, we are always open to new ideas and invite families and supporters to join us in brainstorming ways to generate funds. Together, we can continue to make Belmont Residence a place where our residents thrive and are surrounded by love and care.
